Wedding Program Fans
The weather is getting warmer each day, and that can only mean one thing – wedding season is now in full swing. So, we bring you this crafty tip on making wedding fans that are also a wedding program! This craft tip will satisfy those creative do-it-yourself brides, and also, will offer a cooling affect for all those lovely wedding guests.
You’ll need:
- Access to a computer with a word processing program and a printer
- Fan template (You can download them online: https://www.ayleebits.com/2006/06/10/diy-fan-programs/)
- Scissors
- 3/16” eyelets
- Card stock in colors of your choice
- Glue stick
- Crop-a-dile punch
Although this craft may be a little time consuming (hello, wonderful bridesmaids), it will add the perfect touch to the ceremony.
Once you’ve downloaded the fan template online, the next step will be deciding on the right font. With the format three pieces of the fan can fit on one piece of 8.5”X 11” card stock.
You can decide the amount of blades for your fan, the color variations, and the content, but here is an example using 4 blades:
- The first blade can be an introduction to the wedding with the bride and groom’s names, the date of the wedding, and the location.
- The second blade can list the bride and groom’s parents, the maid of honor and the best man. The third blade can list the bridesmaids and groomsmen.
- And the fourth blade can be an order of the ceremony.
After you’ve printed enough fans for your guests, you can (carefully) cut them out. Next they’re ready to be arranged in the proper order.
Once they’re stacked properly and flush with each other, place and 3/16” eyelet at the bottom, and use a crop-a-dile puncher to press it into the paper, making your 3/16” hole. (Make sure not to clamp it too hard, or the fan won’t be able to open.)
Now you’re finished! And not only do you have a fan that will cool your guests during a beautiful summer wedding, but you also have a memorable keepsake from the special event.
