Revamp your bedroom with a new bedside table

Summer is the best time to start any DIY projects. You can take your projects in the backyard and do it while sipping chilled soda. While we focus on repainting the wall or adding family pictures in the room, we often forget that the side tables also make a huge difference in the way the bedroom feels. For this project you can use the old side table that you already have or buy one at the thrift store or get creative by using various materials for making one(like the example below).

• A unique bedside table can be by placing antique suitcases one on top of the other – the biggest being at the bottom. The smallest suitcase should be placed at the bed level height so that it doubles as a drawer. You can get these suitcases easily at your grandmother’s attic and even at the local antique store.
• For those who want a pop of color in the bedroom then painting the bedside table in white will do the trick. Remove the knobs of the table and give it a fresh coat of primer and set it to dry for a few days. Apply a couple of coats of white paint and later apply a coat of varnish for water resistant coating to get your very own round white bedside table. Now you can spray paint your knobs in bright red color or in subtle gold and you will notice the vast difference it makes.

Finally place a bold colored table lamp such as purple table lamp to give a contrast to the white table.
