Create costumes with your current wardrobe

Ladies, if you’ve been invited to a costume party and have no idea what to wear, or do not want to spend a lot of money on a costume you will only wear once,  here are some clever ways to put together pieces you already have in your wardrobe.

Jessica Rabbit

If you have a red sequin skirt or dress, you can be Jessica Rabbit from the Roger Rabbit movies. But before you start to plan to dye your hair red, you can get colored hair spray by B-Wild!!! from the drugstore which comes off when you wash it. You can choose orange or red depending on your preference, and complete your red sequined Jessica Rabbit look! Don’t forget to pack on the red lipstick and eyeliner to give you the sultry and sexy look she is famous for.

Mobster

If you have a sequin drape back mini dress or any little black dress for the matter, you can easily put together a mobster outfit by adding a black fedora. Cheap costume fedora hats for women come in sequined, pinstriped, or plain black which you can also use later when going out clubbing. If you think you need to go to a costume store to get a fake gun, or steal your brother’s Nerf Gun hoping he won’t notice, you have a better option! You can make a cutout of cardboard and paint it black with silver detailing. This way, everyone will get the idea and you won’t have to spend extra on an unnecessary prop.

Just remember – you don’t have to run to the costume store every time you need a costume. You can put together an outfit with clothes you already have, and make your own props.
